Just a reminder, you can raise the volume ABOVE the amount shown as
"max" on the touch display by using the buttons.

It actually sound quite good. though it does not have a huge amp, a
relatively small amp under passenger seat helps pump out respectaful
amount of volume.
The good thing is that when you accidentally slide the finger on the
display
too far out, the max volume won't cause permanent damage to your ear
drum.
I am actually quite happy with the stock stereo in the 164LS.
Jess <--- not an audiophile either... just loves good music
95164LS stock
NAD 7000 monitor series <--- the better amp
NAD AV714 integrated surround <--- for the movie DVDs
Sony DVPS7700 <--- good CD player, outdated DVD player.
Boston Acoustics Lynfield VR... something series
BA speakers here and there
(Not that they are the greatest speaker, just very good for the $$ and
it will take SIGNIFICANT more $$ to make significant difference... and
it's American :) Would love suggestions for a budget 6 peace AV system
