Re: nuts
Memory tells me that some Chrysler products from the 60's also had left
hand wheel studs/nuts......on the RIGHT side of the car. How Chrysler.
For those who think if tight is good, tighter is better (as far as lug nuts
are concerned), should be aware of a TSB (technical service bulletin) issued
by BMW to it's dealers back in the 80's. It seems there were many customer
complaints on wheel shimmy/brake pedal vibration when applying the brakes.
After much research, the cause was determined to be caused by overtightening
of the lug nuts which warped the rotors. BMW's recommended repair was to
simply use a torque wrench to tighten the nuts instead of an air gun! FWIW.
