Days of Wine & Caves

Please join us for a new, and hopefully annual, event. A purely social event, this Area Overnight Tour invites Alfa owners and their families to journey up to the Jackson area of Amador County on September 15 and 16 to explore some of California's interesting caverns and wineries.

We will meet up Saturday morning in the Bay Area and drive as a group toward Jackson (approximately 150 miles away), visit a cavern, stay over night and Sunday tour another cave and then finish up with lunch and wine tasting at Montevina Winery before returning home.

We will also update Warren Nicholson so if you are on his email list you will receive information that way also. We hope to have a great turnout for this first Area Overnight Tour!



SCHEDULE
Saturday
9:00 AM Depart Bay Area; tour led by Brian
Meet at the Sears parking lot at the Southland Mall in Hayward off I-880, Winton exit 
12:30 PM Arrive in Jackson area for lunch we will stop on the way to the cavern and eat as a group but pay your own way 
3:00 PM Tour California Caverns 

The rest of the afternoon you are free to explore and enjoy the surrounding area including plenty of winding roads and great wineries (we'll have maps). Evening return to Jackson and check into The Best Western Amador Inn for those not making their own accommodations.


Sunday
10:00 AM After breakfasting on your own, meet in the BW parking lot, depart for second cave tour. 
11:00 AM Tour Black Chasm Cavern National Natural Monument in Volcano 
1:00 PM Catered lunch followed by tour and wine tasting at Montevina. 
3:00 PM, or so Head for home or stay and explore more roads and wineries on your own. 

 
COST

you may choose to do whichever combination works best for you:

2 cavern tours: $20/person
Lunch (including wine tasting and tour) $34/per person
Hotel room: $67/single occupancy; $78/double occupancy
