To remove the engine, you have to undo one side of the steering linkage.
Undo the nylon nut on the tie rod end at either end of the steering linkage,
and whack the arm with a hammer.  The tie rod end should drop right out
without any damage and the bellhousing will clear the now dropped bar and
the chassis.  I've only done this on a 105, but I assume the later GTV is
the same.
