The "trick" to avoid coolant leaks when doing this......remove radiator
cap, squeeze top hose (so about 2-3" is flat) , replace rad. cap while
still holding hose, Release grip on hose - you now have a slight vacuum in
system = no leaks.
It's worked for me - something dear Fred D told me years ago!
