the difference shouldn't matter, alfa-digest@domain.elided is an alias to
alfa@domain.elided

re: not being able to post

there are numerous potential reasons

1) you have "taboo" text in your mail, which includes any html, vcard, m$
rich text format, or binary stuff (pictures)

2) you have an email address in your from line which doesn't match the
email address on the subscription list -- you can use the majordomo which
command to try and probe the list to see what email address you are
subscribed with

3) you are reading the digest via the archives, rather than an email
subscription, and so don't appear on the subscribers list at all.

all of these can be dealt with; some need me and some don't.
