In reply to the usual comments about this or that car being "first" with a
particular feature. Even the most avid auto historian can be on thin ice
with "first" statements. As for transverse front wheel drive, pg 126 of The
Complete Encyclopedia of Motorcars edited by G.N. Georgano states that
Chrisite of NY, NY introduced a race car with such an arrangement in
January, 1904. It is always possible that the Christie was preceeded by
others. Granted production numbers are quite another topic but again be
careful of what you speak.
