GTV6-Mounting a fire extinguisher

There is no roller in my GTV6, otherwise I would mount the
extinguisher on it. However, I have a small Halon (I realize it ain't
ozone friendly, but I've yet to use it) mounted to the bodies interior
fender frame structure resting on the rail along the foot well on the
driver's side for easy access, yet out of the way. Even though the
bottle sticks out less than 1/2 inch beyond the rail it rests on, it
hasn't posed a problem (but if you have big feet it may not work for
you).

It's been mounted there for at least 10 years and this particular GTV6
has over 340,000 miles (~548,000 km) on it with several visits to the
track and numerous autocrosses (gymkhanas) and it has yet to come
loose.

I'd suggest you mount the holder so the quick release can not be
kicked as your foot travels to the pedals (which may not be possible
on RH drive vehicles, at least not with the full mount mine has, in
which case I'd recommend putting it on the passenger side).

Be sure to have the extinguisher tested annually.
